Christmas Party

We had so much fun at the class party and really appreciated the mom helpers--Carrie Hall, Erin Holmes, and Sarah McCann, & Carla Cruz.

We had one station where the kids played a Christmas Mad Gab game and played "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" on the Chimes and ate the cookies that Carla Cruz sent.

Carrie Hall did a fun paper plate game and the kids loved winning the prizes she brought!

Sarah McCann helped the kids make an adorable Christmas tree craft and they turned out so cute.

Erin Holmes brought some fun Minute-to-win-it games and the kids were hilarious to watch!

We hope everyone has a wonderul and safe Christmas Vacation!

Halloween

Here's a class Halloween photo that I snapped right before the parade!  What a fabulous group!

Here's a photo from their music class production of "There was an Old Lady."  It was a cute show and Jaemen was a great Old Lady!
My daughter was so excited that she and Ms. Kartcher were both dressed up as Medusa!

Diamond Fork Youth Forest Field Trip

What a fun field trip!  The kids divided up into their 4 classes and went to each rotation.  The first rotation we did was to learn from Mr. Webb (a retired Provo high teacher) about birds.  He taught us how to recognize birds from their Size, Sound, Shape, and Color.  He also showed up some neat stuffed birds.

Our second rotation was going on a nature hike where the kids wrote in their field journals what they saw along the way.  We saw a tree that a beaver had chewed up, some reeds (snake grass), a Native American Teepee and lots of other fun things.

Next we went to the river and put on waders. Ms. Kartchner's sister was so nice to come along and teach the kids!   The kids were supposed to find some invertabrates in the river using nets.  However, some of the kids caught some fish!  This was probably everyone's favorite rotation!  They also got to put some river water in a vile and test the PH balance of the water.

Our final rotation was learning about plant identification. The ranger talked to us about a healthy forest and an unhealthy forest and showed us some different bark. She also lit a bunch of matches and showed how they burn in an upwards direction. Then the kids were given some fact cards and they had to go on a scavenger hunt and find the leaves that matched the description on the card.
